Mitt Romney's Visit to SUU

Governor Romney visited the campus of Southern Utah University on Thursday, February 22, 2018 as part of his campaign for Utah Senator. Romney's campaign staff notified myself and my team on the morning of Tuesday, February 20th. I was able to be the event manager for Romney's visit. We advertised to students, faculty, and staff to notify them of his visit. SUU branded backdrops were set up meet and greet style and on the day of Romney's visit, 300+ students arrived to meet the Utah Candidate.

The Filharmonic Concert

An A capella concert performed by the Filharmonic who were featured in the hit film, Pitch Perfect 2 and debuted on NBC's The Sing Off. The group performed at a free concert for students of Southern Utah University. I was responsible for contracting the group, arranging local travel, food, and green room set-ups.
Scotty McCreery Concert

The American Idol favorite, Scotty McCreery performed live in concert on the campus of Southern Utah University for the end of the school year concert. Under the direction of SUU V.P. Mindy Benson and SUUSA V.P. Kenten Pope along with each of our directors to execute transportation, catering, venue set up, and green room set up.

The Piano Guys Concert

I assisted the production teams with load-in and load-out as well as assisted the Venue management team with set-up, and Front of House.
Oak Ridge Boys Concert & Polo Match
6S Ranch Polo Fields | June 18, 2017 | Declo, ID
This event was a private Oak Ridge Boys Concert to commemorate the grand opening of the 6S Ranch Polo Fields in Declo, Idaho. The event was held on the 6S Ranch. This event started with a Polo Match followed by a 90 minute Oak Ridge Boys Concert and ended with an Argentine BBQ.
Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament
Babe Ruth League Vernal Youth Baseball | July 23 - 28, 2017 | Vernal, UT
10 of the top teams in the Pacific Southwest Region of Babe Ruth League Baseball gathered in Vernal Utah for the 13u Regional Tournament. Teams came from 6 different states and competed in a double elimination tournament as well as participated in various extra events ran through the tournament. I served as Tournament Director responsible for branding, advertising, overseeing the tournament, fan game experience, souvenir design, Opening Ceremonies, and a large firework show.
How Do You Party?

How do you Party was an event created to help students find the fun in politics. This event was held in the Ballroom of Southern Utah University, and was split into 3 sections. The left side of the room was lit up blue with carnival games that have connections to the Democratic Party. The right side of the room was lit up red with games tied to the Republican Party, and the center was lit up White with food, and BINGO played every 20 minutes.
Cedar City Half Marathon

Nearly 1,000 participants gathered to run in the majesty of Cedar Canyon. 900 Participants ran 13.1 miles down the Cedar City Half Marathon and 30 ran in the Coal Creek Trail Run. This event draws runners from all over the world to race in the beautiful scenery during the Cedar Canyon and the Coal Creek Trail.

SUU Commencement

I served under SUU Vice President Mindy Benson as the Event Manager for the 2018 Commencement exercises. I was responsible for calling cues to execute the event. I worked with sound and teleprompter companies during load-in to accommodate their needs and requests. I was responsible for managing and directing the Morning Commencement exercises as well as the following college convocations.
Uintah High School Grad Night

Grad Night is an all night celebration for that year's high school graduating class. I served as the Event Manager. I was tasked with planning and executing all design and decoration for the event. I also contracted and hosted the entertainer for the night.

The Larry H Miller Utah Summer Games is an annual sporting event for people of all ages. Teams can sign up to compete in activities from arm wrestling, to dodgeball to soccer tournaments. Each year, the games begin with a large Opening Ceremony Celebration. I served as one of 2 Event Managers for this event. I was tasked with contracting Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey, to headline that year's event. I also created a playlist and worked with a firework company to create the largest firework show in Southern Utah. Lastly I over saw the torch run and ceremonial lighting of the Cauldron by Detroit Lions Football player, Miles Killebrew.

UTAH BABE RUTH / CAL RIPKEN
STATE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
20 of the top teams of Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League Baseball gathered in Vernal Utah for the 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15u State Baseball Tournaments. Teams came from all over Utah and competed in a double elimination tournament as well as participated in various extra events ran through the tournament. I served as Tournament Director planning and executing various events, fan experience, souvenir design, and a firework show.
Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo

I ran marketing and social media promotions for the 2018 Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. Working with the Board of Directors, I was a liaison between sponsors, designers, and the Board. Researching printing companies, I was responsible for the production of the Rodeo Program as well as news paper and social media advertising.

Sponsored by the SUU Alumni and Community Relations Office at Southern Utah University. John Michael Montgomery performed a concert on September 11, 2018. I assisted the production teams with load-in and load-out as well as lead the venue management team with set-up, and Front of House and assisted the Hospitality team with hosting and following rider requirements. I also designed all marketing materials and worked on a marketing plan.

U.S. SENATE DEBATE
The Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service at SUU had the great honor to host the U.S. Senate Debate at SUU between Mitt Romney (R) and Jenny Wilson (D). As Event Manager, I worked with the Utah Debate Commission to arrange set up, contract lights and sound, as well as set up green rooms for candidates and crew. This was the largest debate hosted in Southern Utah and by the Utah Debate Commission. The event was televised on all state media outlets and nationally on CSPAN.

The Highlight each year at SUU's Homecoming Celebration is the Annual Forever Red Friday Celebration. As the Event Manager for this show, I was responsible for contracting ABBAMANIA to headline the concert. Contract lighting, sound, bounce house, catering, and pyro. This event is free to SUU students, alumni and community.

I was the Event Manager over this event tasked with decorating the SUU Ballroom into an immersive country Christmas. I was also responsible for contracting sound, and entertainment as well as executing the event program with a special performance by the Oak Ridge Boys.
